Abbi and Benji

Updated: Oct 17, 2023

Jaake has been back to Sunderland to see Abbi and Benji for another session.

Abbi and Benji were rescued from a puppy farm after spending the first couple of years of their lives kept in a cage together and used for breeding.

Despite their awful start in life, these little dogs would brighten up anyone’s day, and they now have a beautiful home. But due to them missing out on any kind of socialisation they are fearful of other dogs which causes them to react.

What happens when they are out together is that Benji reacts to other dogs and redirects onto Abbi which sets her off and from there Abbi struggles to settle down long after Benji has calmed down.

We have already had some success in Benji’s reactivity and we now have a solid plan in place to keep moving forward. Well done to Abbi and Benji’s owner who has not only given them an amazing home, she continues to put in the work to help them as much as possible.
