Cocker Off Switch

Jaake has been in Newcastle to visit Luna and Skye.

We were called in after Luna was struggling to accept the new addition (Skye) to the family. This has however improved although they still had concerns of whether the play between the 2 dogs was normal. Skye is also struggling with being left alone and is hyperactive for large parts of the day.

In this session, we had a look at giving Skye an off switch by getting her to relax on her bed but also looked at ways to increase her mental stimulation by introducing scent work as this is also something her big sister loves doing.

The settle on the bed will also help build up to her owners moving away from her whilst she is relaxed. We also looked at a game called “Door is a Bore” where we desensitise Skye to her owners getting up to leave the room.

Check back soon to see their progress.
