I've been to see Chino, a rescue and an absolute character. Chino was originally reactive to other dogs, even from far away. He would see a dog and have a genuine meltdown, barking, lunging, and dragging on the lead.
We've worked with him for a few months, and he’s doing very well. Chino now doesn't react to the vast majority of dogs and will only react to bigger dogs that pay attention to him up close. He is very food-motivated, which has no doubt helped. When he sees another dog, he automatically looks back at his owners to get a treat.
We were down the Promenade at Seaburn, where we saw a lot of dogs, and he hardly reacted—he is doing very fantastic. The only thing we need to do is put a little more space in for the bigger dogs and gradually get him a little bit closer.
At the rest of the dogs, he's completely fine with. Well done, Chino and family, for doing extremely well!
