Kaya the Vizla

Kaya can get frustrated when she can't say hi to dogs and gets very impulsive.

We looked at teaching her impulse control in playing using Tug toys. Think musical statutes but if I stop you stop, then the game doesn't continue till you release them. This will develop nicely to teaching a stop even when she's over-excited in play, and can also be used for recall instead of playing with the dog play this game with me.

We also taught Kaya how to walk with a loose lead by making it a proximity game with her. These games are great for dogs that lose focus on treats outside and help to increase the reward value.

Next session we'll look more closely at the close proximity around other dogs. But she did absolutely fab and is such a quick learner.

Well done Kaya & Co!
