Lenny Cocker Spaniel

Jaake has been back in South Shields today to see Lenny for his 2nd session.

Lenny didn’t quite meet the criteria to be a police dog due to his recall so we were called in to help as he was still struggling with it.

Lenny’s owners have been working hard since his first session on a recall plan we have developed and have been playing some fun recall games with him.

Their efforts were evident today as Lenny responds really nicely to his new recall cue.

Today we worked on using a wider variety of reinforcers, looked at how we deliver those reinforcers to make Lenny far more motivated to recall, and added reward-specific markers which help build anticipation, and excitement, and give him more of a reason to recall at speed.

Lenny is an awesome dog and an absolute dream to work with. His recall looked great today and most importantly he had an incredible amount of fun.
