Luke the Pomeranian and his aggression towards children.
This session ran over, and I forgot to get a picture of Luke, so instead, here is a picture of my Chloe going to fight the dark side (compulsion and dominance trainers).
Luke is a young Pomeranian who has bitten children a couple of times now. Obviously, this is very worrying for his guardians who have children who the aggression has been directed towards.
Luke is constantly over-aroused and not able to fully think about his actions. He is also an impulse greeter, so runs over to people and dogs without thinking then panics when he gets there.
Here’s what we did:
Taught Luke to go to bed when asked so he has a safe space he can go to when the kids are over.
Taught a hand touch for appropriate greetings
Introduced games to help Luke control his arousal level and switch it on and off
taught a marker word so we can tell Luke when he gets it right.
Luke is mint, such a loving, and friendly dog when you get to know him, and pretty clever too!
We will be back soon and update everyone on his progress.
