Meet Angus!

How cute is he!

Angus is a fab pup and his owners have spent a lot of time working with him and getting the behaviors they want.

The one area where they are struggling is loose leash walking.

We started with teaching him the basic heel position and started with him moving around the house in the heel position and started building up a reinforcement schedule with plenty of breaks.

Loose leash walking is hard work for a dog, we often start in the most distracting areas and then get frustrated when they need a few seconds to take a break. Not to mention it’s difficult for dogs to actually walk at our pace!

So this way we can help him learn with the time he needs in a low distracting environment.

Next, we will start teaching him outside and getting him through doorways.
