Nancy the Doberman in Durham

We’ve been over to Durham to see Nancy the Dobbie.

Now I love dobbies, they’re mint. They tend to fixate a lot on anything that moves, and in some, that can cause issues. When they start to tense up and get frustrated, when they don’t have the ability to disengage, they can start barking and lunging.

Nancy is only 1 year old but super powerful. Her guardian struggles to keep hold if she charges, so we started working on Nancy’s giving in to leash tension, general training like loose leash walking, and building auto check-ins.

Nancy has had plenty of training already as her guardians have really put the time in to train her. They were stuck on finishing her loose leash walking and building consistency with it. The major issue though was reacting to other dogs and people.

We started the counter conditioning process and started adding in attention cues, but will pick this up again in our next session as we only just started this towards the end of the session.

Nancy did fab and will be sorted in no time

Well done Nancy and co
