We’ve been back to Nanuq (the white GSD).
Nanuq is a serious puller, which would be all that bad if he didn’t go absolutely ape sh*t the second he sees another dog. He will bark and lunge when he sees other dogs.
After he’s reacted, he struggles to relax back into the walk.
Prior to the visit to Backworth in Newcastle for in-person dog training, we spoke on zoom and got some basics in place, like heel position, hand feeding and general relationship-building exercises.
Nanuq’s loose leash walking came on leaps and bounds during the sessions, however, we definitely picked the wrong place to work, as what we thought was a quiet street had a constant flow of dogs way to close.
Anyway, foundations, loose leash walking and focus in place, time to sort the reactivity (and in a more appropriate area!!).
Well done so far! Can’t wait to get stuck in with this one (do love a white GSD 😍)
