Roscoe the Hyperactive Labrador

We’ve had a few visits with Roscoe now, originally he was pulling towards other dogs, pulling on the lead and running off to other dogs.

These behaviours are all sorted now and Roscoe is doing fab!

We’ve really pushed this by taking him to busy places with loads of distractions and he has done fab!

When training, the behaviours aren’t resolved until the behaviour is a habit with environmental reinforcement (ie forward movement as a reward for loose leash walking). This goes for anything that you train, regardless of methods and trainers.

This is why we only work with clients on support programs, so that we can help see the behaviours through, grow habits and fade away tools. You can’t resolve a training or behaviour problem in 1 session.

We will soon be pushing Roscoe even further to make sure we get these new behaviours everywhere he goes and regardless of the distractions.

Roscoe has come on leaps and bounds and doing awesome!
