How to stop barking out the window with Toffee.
Toffee is a rescue dog from Turkey who now lives in sunny South Shields.
We were asked to help with a few issues Toffee has, namely barking a lot at the door, at people going past the window, reactivity to some vehicles, minor pulling on the lead, and recall.
Toffee was lovely and enjoyed the games we played, being the foody dog she is.
There’s too much to go through on a Facebook post for what we did, so we will focus on barking through the window for this post.
Essentially, Toffee isn’t allowed in the front rooms unsupervised without the blinds down. When the blinds are up, as soon as she acknowledges someone walking past, her guardians calmly throw a treat for her.
From here she will start to look at them when someone appears, at which point we fade out the door.
Toffee did fab in today’s session and quickly get past these few struggles she has
Well done Toffee and co!
