My last dog of the week was this lovable rogue Zoe the Bosnian Sheep Dog, who is a rescue from another country.
Zoe has been with a family over here previously but recently been rehomed to an owner that is very on the ball with training.
Pretty much instantly, Zoe’s new owner contacted me and got sessions booked in, which shows she really wants to help her.
Zoe is actually an incredibly lovely dog but is showing some aggressive behaviors towards other dogs.
This, to me, looks like panic - namely that she fears losing control of the situation if another dog approaches. Due to this, she reacts towards other dogs that are around 50m away.
We got straight to work on that and closed the distance early on, as well as setting up the situation so that she makes the right choice and learns that other dogs aren’t interested in her.
I really do have a soft spot for this lovely pup and have no doubts that she will do just fine in her new home.
Looking forward to seeing how well she’s doing in a few weeks time
